schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL Ultra Bright Review

Posted by Unknown at Tuesday, August 11, 2015 0 comments
So I wanted to dip dye my hair purple for over a year now and this summer I finally decided to do it. I was originally going to use Manic Panics 'Purple Haze' but when I saw this in superdrug 1/3 off and triple points I decided to pick this up instead and this is how I along with it...

Before I used any hair dye my hair was a medium brown colour and then last summer I dip dyed my hair a lighter brand then a few months later, I used a lightening jelly on my hair. This is what it looked like before

In the box you get a tube of pre mixed dye and 2 conditioner packets beware that if you have thick hair or hair longer than shoulder length, you may need two dye boxes.

After letting the dye develop for 30 minutes I washed my hair until the water ran clear and applied one of the packs of conditioner. Once I dried my hair this is what it looked like

As you can see my hair turned more or a pink colour instead of a purple colour like the box said but the dye was recommended for light blonde to dark blonde hair.

When the dye washed out after about 2-3 weeks, I decided to dye my hair again. This time I went higher up with the dye and left it on for 50 minutes instead of 30 and I got a much darker colour.

This was a photo I took earlier and as you can see the colour was more darker and more purple.

Overall I think this dye would be a much brighter colour on lighter hair but I really liked how it turned out.

Top Tips For Troublesome Teenage Skin!♡

Posted by Unknown at Sunday, May 24, 2015 0 comments
Just like most other teens other teens on this planet, I have typical teenage skin problems: Oily patchs, dry patches, black heads, pimples and many more. I've had them all!
Now I'm not claiming to be a dermatologist or anything but I've decided to share some of my top tips for dealing with teen skin problems.

1. Do NOT be too harsh on your skin!
Now I've learnt this tip the hard way, I have very oily skin and the other day I used an exfoliator and scrubbed wayyy to hard. The next day both of my cheeks had very dry skin! My face was so irritated, I couldn't wear makeup for almost a week and even applying moisturiser stung my under eyes. My face has only just gone back to normal and I have definitely learnt my lesson!

2. Find the products that work for you and stick to them!
When you find the right products for your skin, which would you ever want to try anything different. There's a few exceptions to this tip such as if you usually have oily skin and one day your skin seems a bit dryer, you should use a thicker moisturiser and the same the other way round.

3. Make sure that you eat right!
You want to make sure that your eating the right diet. Now don't get me wrong, we all love a treat every now and then but you have to make sure that you are eating right. I don't mean that if everyone who wants to sort their skin out that they should go on a raw low fat vegan diet but you be getting things like your daily 5 a day!

4. Use the right products for your skin!
Just because you hear one beauty guru raving about one product, it doesn't mean that this product is going to work for you. If that person has oily skin and you have dry skin, the chances are that product isn't going to work as well for you as it did for them and vice versa.

5.Don't stress!
I Know exam season is coming up and some people have already started theirs but stressing about them won't do any good for your skin. I Recommend you set aside at least one night a week and have your own pamper evening. Run a bath and let all your worries just melt away. I love lush products and my favourite lush bath photo use is the Creamy Candy bubble bar.
You can find this bar here!

Hope you enjo this blog post and these tips can help your skin too.

Reveiw: Garner Micellar Cleansing Water

Posted by Lucy Lou at Sunday, May 10, 2015 1 comments

Hey guys sorry for being so inactive lately but I've just been caught up in school work and my Instagram and YouTube channel which you can find here.

So today's review is about the Garnier Micellar Cleaning Water! There has been a lot of hype around this product and many people have been claiming that it is a dupe for the Bioderma Cleansing Water. After hearing so many good things about this product, I decided to try it out for myself.

To use this product, you just apply a small amount of the water onto a cotton pad and wipe it over your face. Before using this product, I used face wipes to remove my makeup at night but after using this product, I am pretty sure that I will not be going back to face wipes any time soon! I Barely have to use any product or any pressure on my face and this water gets all of my makeup off, even eyeliner and mascara!!!

The great thing about this water is that it's perfect for quick and easy makeup removal. You don't need to rinse your face after and this product doesn't leave an oily or sticky residue like some makeup removers do.

Micellar waters work by drawing dirt, oil and makeup out of  your skin just like a magnet.
This water is also suitable for sensitive skin and it is fragrance free.

I really liked this product and I can definitely see myself buying this again in the near future!

Price: This product is usually £4.99 but Superdrig at this moment, thee is 1/3 off all Garnier products so I got this water for £3.32 :)

Buy this product Here

See you soon

Natural Makeup Look

Posted by Lucy Lou at Wednesday, April 08, 2015 0 comments
In this post I'm going to show you how I do my make up for school or make up for days where I want a natural lighter  make up look.

Preparation

♡ I start by washing my face with Witch Pore Minimizing Gel wash. This cleans my face and help to minimize the appearance of my pores.
♡ I also use Tesco Cucumber Facial Scrub and Clearasil Ultra Blemish + Marks Wash and Mask 2-3 times a week.
♡ After washing my face, I use Simple Kind to Skin Light Moisturiser. Lots of people don't use Moisturiser if they have oily skin because they think that it will make there skin oilier but in fact not using moisturiser dries out you skin and then, to compensate for that, there skin will be even more oilier.

Face

♡ I apply Maybelline Baby Skin primer with my fingers all over my face. This helps to reduce the look of pores with it's unique 'Insta-blur technology' and helps to keep make up on for longer.
♡ Next, I use Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream in the shade light and again i apply this all over my face, blending it in with my fingers.
♡ Then, I use Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Powder and sweep that all over my face with my Barry M powder brush to set my make up and to avoid making my skin look oily or greasy.

Eyes

♡ I start by applying Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo Cream Eye shadow in the shade 65 - Pink gold. I just use my fingers and sweep the colour across my eye lid.
♡I also apply Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in the shade Blackest Black on my upper lashes and a little bit on my lower lashes.

Lips

♡I use a Primark Rasberry Lip Balm and just apply that all over my lips to hydrate them as lipstick can be quite drying.
♡Over that, I use Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in shade 08.

I also made a video on this which you can watch here

Lemon Drizzle Cake

Posted by Lucy Lou at Sunday, March 29, 2015 0 comments
Today is my brothers 19th birthday and as nobody had thought to buy a cake, I took it upon myself to make one. I decided to make a lemon drizzle cake because who doesn't like lemon drizzle cake?

Ingredients
For the cake:
8oz (225g) of softened butter or baking spread (I used stork)
8oz (225g) caster sugar
4 medium free range eggs
8oz (225g)  self raising flour
The juice and grated zest of 1 lemon
For the icing
5-6 tablespoons of lemon juice (about 1 large lemon)
200g icing sugar

1) Preheat the oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4

2) Beat the butter and sugar with an electric whisk or by hand until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
This will take about 5 minutes but this makes the cake fluffy and light.

3) Mix the eggs in one by one until they are fully incorporated.

4) Sift in the flour and mix into the mixture with the lemon zest and juice.

5) Line a loaf tin with grease proof paper and pour the mixture in.

6) Bake for 50 minutes or until the top is golden and when you insert a skewer into the middle of the cake it comes out clean.

7) while the cake is cooling, mix the icing sugar and lemon juice together until the icing is smooth and at your desired consistency.

8) Pour the icing over the warm cake and leave to cool completely.

9) when cooled, remove the cake from the tin and serve.

Review: Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

Posted by Lucy Lou at Sunday, March 29, 2015 0 comments
Many people know Lush for there amazing bath and shower products but, not many people know Lush for its equally amazing lip scrubs. When I nipped into my local Lush store, I was thrilled to see that they had the lip scrubs in stock. Lush have three year round flavours 'Mint Julips', 'Popcorn' and 'Bubblegum', as well as limited edition ones that come out at Christmas and Valentines Day. After long and hard consideration I decided to pick up the Bubblegum lip scrub and went home, excited to try it out.

The colours in the photo are slightly off but I can assure you that this lip scrub is a VERY bright pink.

What is it?
Lush says, "This sugary perfectly pink polisher keeps lips in tip top condition and tasting of candy floss." This lip scrub is designed to keep dry, chapped lips at bay whilst smelling and tasting AMAZING. The only way that I can describe the smell is similar to Candy Mountain or Snow Fairy which are both part of Lush's Christmas range.  This product is also vegan and preservative free just like many of Lush's products.

How to use
It says on the sticker, "Scrub your lips for softness and apply your favourite Lush lip balm or tint." All I can say about this is make sure up that you apply lip balm afterwards otherwise you're going to be stuck with verryyyy dry lips.

Pros
♡ It's vegan and preservative free and Lush is also against animals testing.
♡it's only made with 6 ingredients and 2 are natural colourings.
♡ when you've used the product, the glass tub it comes in can be refilled with a DIY lip scrub.

Cons
♡ It is slightly over priced for what it is (£5.50 for 25g of sugar, oil, flavouring and colours)

                                                                         Overall
I really liked the product even with the price and I probably will but it again and next time I'll                                                           .                                        Probably buy some other flavours as well.

What do you think of this product?
